May I humbly suggest that, in spite of the song, God doesn't bless America. Though the tune brings tears to our eyes, he only snorts and projects the resultant heavenly phlegm as far as he can, as if to separate himself from the arrogance of our nationalistic delusion. Rather than the apple of his eye (Holland probably wins, hands down), we are more likely the thorn in his side, for which, in retribution, he has given us Sarah Palin.
