Back in March and April of 2010, the Times Herald Record published two letters to the editor from the chairman of the Orange County Conservative Party, John P. Delessio, claiming that God caused the demise of a couple of democrats in some local races.
A few days later, there was another letter from a writer in Narrowsburg, NY, refuting Mr. Delessio's claims of devine intervention with an intelligent, insightful, well-crafted, eloquently written rebuttal.
What amazes me, in light of such a powerful counter-attack, is that Mr. Delessio is still standing. He ought to be in a closet, cringing and red-faced, unable to cope with the falsehood of his premise, mortally wounded.
If all the talented writers in the world attacked Mr. Delessio simultaneously, I don't believe we'd dent his armor. Perhaps we ought to ditch the writing and learn how to fence!
